Welcome to “The Future of Food,” FEMA’s 105th Annual Convention. Thank you to all who attended this year’s meeting at the Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort, on Marco Island, Florida. This year’s Annual Convention attendees were offered many opportunities to network with colleagues and to share their predictions of how – and what – we will eat in the decades to come. The impact of of demographic and socioeconomic shifts, as well as technological and product development innovations, on the future of global diets and consumption patterns here in the United States and around the world was discussed in details by this year’s speakers.
On Sunday and Monday, May 4th and 5th, several committee meetings featured special presentations from subject matter experts who discussed the latest issues impacting the industry. On Tuesday, May 6th, Hot Topics speaker and General Session panelists shared their predictions about our future foods and beverages, while executive chefs from some of FEMA’s largest global members discussed how the flavor industry is meeting those anticipated future trends. On Wednesday, May 7th, Innovation Forum offered an opportunity for the top science and research executives from the FEMA membership to discuss how their companies continue to meet our evolving consumption needs.
