Letter from the President


As I reflect on what has happened over the past year, I am amazed by how much we have been able to achieve together. This association has made tremendous progress in advancing our goals and we are working hard to keep up the momentum.

The toughest task for any industry is keeping up with the demands of the current landscape. Flavors will always be relevant to consumers. The challenge lies in how we communicate with the public to ensure that consumers know what we produce is safe. Transparency through sound science is what makes FEMA so valuable to members, researchers, policymakers, and consumers alike. With a united effort, I know we are once again ready to rise to the challenge.

We will drive toward success by adhering to our core values as we strive to fulfill our goals. With more than a century of experience under our belt, FEMA has the fortitude to continue our ongoing commitment to offer the world delightful flavor experiences every day.

Serving a second term as FEMA president was unexpected, but I am grateful for the opportunity and for everyone’s hard work, and I’m proud at what we have been able to accomplish in 2017 and 2018 thus far.

It has been a pleasure to serve as president of such a reputable and respected organization for the past two years. I am grateful for the opportunity and look forward to the journey ahead.
